All I know of Alex Rider is the first movie and the first book. I actually found this because I got interested by Damian Lewis in the tv show 'Life'. And then I stumbled across some AR fanfic a few days ago after I googled his roles and followed a recommendation on some lj community to here. I'm generally very icked out by chan and non-con and I can't stand it in HP fanfic, so enjoying a fic that focuses on both of these is a pretty big thing for me.
I had to take at least two breaks to keep myself from being completely overwhelmed by it. I think the bit I loved most (after I had finished vacillating between my mental AAAH!! and omgomgomg) was at the end when Yassen refers to him as 'little brother'. I mean, what an incredible mindfuck for Alex if/when they meet again and he finds out what happened... and it just makes me incredibly hungry to know what is going on in Yassen's mind. How detached must he be to do something to someone he considers a little brother? What would he do to make up for it? He can't 'fix' Alex and he can't avenge the pain caused him... How much of Yassen is shaped by the Schola and how much by Scorpia. (Was it intentional that the names sound/appear similar?) Will Alex remember anything? And if yes/no then how will he be affected?
The entire story gives me so many questions they could only be answered by a novella. *sigh* You're awesome. And this is an awesome fic. I probably won't end up reading any of your other work until much much later because, well, chan makes me ill and non-con even more so but if it's anything like this I might have to take the plunge. Eventually. Once my brain retains its normal consistency.
