A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
And now, for the poll, as always without any of the pretty ticky boxes, because I'm cheap, and poor ;).
How Do You Prefer Fic Recs?
a) I'm not interested/don't read fic recs
b) I don't care what fic recs look like, as long as there's a link
c) I have my own preferences as to what fic recs should look like, and want to see (pick everything that applies):
TITLE/LINK; AUTHOR; RATING; PAIRING; GENRE; SUMMARY; COMMENT ON CONTENT; COMMENT ON QUALITY; SUBJECTIVE COMMENT ON WHAT INSPIRED THE RECCER TO REC; ANYTHING ELSE I'M GOING TO ADD :)
d) I have my own preferences as to what fic recs should look like, and do *not* want to see (pick everything that applies):
TITLE/LINK; AUTHOR; RATING; PAIRING; GENRE; SUMMARY; COMMENT ON CONTENT; COMMENT ON QUALITY; SUBJECTIVE COMMENT ON WHAT INSPIRED THE RECCER TO REC; ANYTHING ELSE I'M GOING TO ADD :)
Thankee! :)
And totally unrelated, I *so* wish the spammers would stop trying to sell me land in Costa Rica three times a day! I much rather fancy some prime bit of ocean-front property in Atlantis, thank you very much!

Date: 2005-09-30 08:57 pm (UTC)My preferences in what a rec should look like are reflected in my own recs 'cos I give the info I'd like to see.
They consist of two blocks. 1) Fic info (title, link, rating, pairing, summary, length, warnings -- but this one I'm picky about. I hate what I consider silly warnings, like, "Slash" or some really mild stuff). 2) Subjective comments.
I can't come up with what I do not want to see. If I think some info in the rec is too much, I'll just skip it. Too little for me is more annoying. I don't like recs that consist only of a link/title. I read (with more or less 'gusto') all slash pairings and gen (and sometimes het), but find far not all themes/scenarios equally attractive. So I like to know a bit about the actual contents of a fic 'cos it helps me choose. For instanse, there are always 10-20 new h/d fics a day, but I'm not going to read them all.
