Minor Woes

Just survived teaching my first class of the semester this afternoon. Which might not seem like a major thing if... you're not afflicted with a major fear of people, the incapability of remembering faces, and the urge to communicate your enthusiasm. Well, it went without any major disasters and only a few minor ones like forgetting that there *might* be such a bloody thing as Whitsun holidays...
And it's a *crowd* (43 to date). There was a time when we had 25 and called it rather full :(. But it's not just a matter of me being unable to say no - every time I walked by the classroom (around the corner from my office) it was just as crowded. But it wasn't as if anyone prepared to bother about this beforehand (i.e. offering more classes?). All we got was this *silly* round mail saying oh, the Land government (the bloody, greedy arseholes!) is planning to introduce tuition fees, that means people could go to *court* to be able to get into classes, woe is us and something ought to be done... *grrr*
At least the group seems quite enthusiastic (if woefully ignorant with a few exceptions) about Northern Ireland - hope I'll get them to talk properly despite the numbers...
Which means I won't have a great deal of time fandom-wise over the next months :(.
And I managed to miss out on the requests for the
pornish_pixies Fantasy Fest (*insert random vile curses*). That would've been a great opportunity to go puppy-eyed for a Ron/Lucius! Drat! And I'm literally sitting on my hands to *not* sign up for anything, even if things are so, so tempting... Ron/Snape, Harry/Ron/Draco, Pansy/Hermione, and more than just one Harry/Lucius that's yelling at me.
But I *swore* I would spend time on my own scenarios after the
hpde_smutathon is over, and I just don't have the *time* in May! *weeps* There's this Remus/Ron/Lucius thing that has haunted the back of my head for months now, and tons of unfinished stuff, and heck, I can't even find the time to edit the fic that's done and beta-read by several lovely people! *weeps like a waterspout*
McGonagall, I want a Time Turner! And a bed.
*slouches off to the library*
