German speakers? Der Spiegel is discussing the LJ/6A bruhaha. I'm still grinning - Wow! This reminds me why I enjoy that magazine. There is a bit of the usual condescending amusement over fandom, and a wild mixup of Strikethrough I and II, but overall, it's amazingly supportive (or rather not too sympathetic towards 6A).

Wenn ich die Zeit hätte (und nicht bis in zwei Stunden ein versprochenes Kapitel fic and die Betas loswerden müßte), würd ich es machen. Aber bis ich wieder morgen abend an einen Computer komme, ist es sicher schon übersetzt :(. Oder? Aber ich hätte da keine Skrupel an deiner Stelle ;).

But man - aren't I happy for German/European non-conservative thoughts on the matter. I believe the general 'us laws/standards are rather freaky' sentiment that does exist over here helps considerably.

Thanks for that link, Hijja. It made my day, too. If I have time later tonight, I might translate it.

And yes, it is amazingly supportive. Like cruentum, I suspect that the widely shared consensus that much of American laws and norms regarding sexuality are irrational does inform the background of this analysis, and makes the writer more sympathetic.

Ich kann mir nicht helfen, aber das ist genau die Art von Publicity, die dieses Fandom nicht gebrauchen kann, wenn wir nicht doch irgendwann WB höchstpersönlich im Nacken haben wollen... *seufz*

Ich bin allerdings positiv überrascht über die Kommentare - hätte nicht gedacht, dass der einsame "Bäh, kranke Phantasien"-Schreier derart in der Luft zerrissen wird... ;)

Hee - that looks fun. Especially that they included a clip of the picture! I wonder for how many people that was their first glimpse of naked!Harry.

Unfortunately my German is far too weak to attempt a detailed read without a few hours and a dictionary to hand, but I'll come back to it (unless some nice person posts a translation in the meantime...)
