A Lexicon of Serpents by Arkady (wired_lizard) [Moody/Riddle, R]

Summary: Hogwarts, 1943. A tale of two sixth-years, their attempts to deal with unreasonable emotions, and their equally unreasonable relationship; or, Tom Riddle and Alastor Moody do the Gryff/Slyth thing.

This has at long last been UPDATED, with the result that I walked around with a silly grin stuck on my face for the entire day.

This fic has just about everything – an original pairing, Quidditch at its very best, inter-house politics, awesome characterisation... Arkady writes a wonderfully gruff Moody, and a menacing, scheming, but still very human Tom Riddle. If I had to take a handful of fanfictions into exile on that hyper-clichéd lonesome island, this one would be one of my first picks. Very, very highly recommended (I kid you not!).
