Random Wafflings
Nov. 5th, 2005 11:02 pmAh, good news :). I received my
hpvalensmut assignment, and to my great relief, it looks doable. Very much so, even :). And the bottom line? Never whine/worry about something beforehand, it might not turn out so scary.

Actually, if we're at fic writing, I'd love to ask a question to those of you out there who manage to handle several points-of-view in a story... How in hell do you do it? I've always been awed by someone who can jostle perspectives, especially in shorter fics, but it just does not bloody *work* with the fic I'm wrestling with a fic right now! There are always observations sneaking in from the *other* characters into the narrative voice of the moment, or I get bits that are just too good to miss, which won't fit into any other scene and I hate to delete them... I've picked that particular fic up three times trying to continue, and always throw up my hands in frustration after a while, and it goes nowhere at all ;(. Any tips, if you have them?
Oh, and if you write about a character who never shows up (or is mentioned) in canon, but has to exist (like Abraxas Malfoy's wife, or Dean Thomas' father) is that an OC, or something else like a nonexistent minor character? :)
