Kailash, When it Rises by Mirabella (mirasfics) [PG; (pre)slash; Harry/Draco; one-shot]
Summary: Harry can't sleep.
This story practically drowns you in Harry's mind as he prowls Grimmauld Place on the night of Draco's initiation to the Death Eaters. Proof of how very quiet writing can pack an incredible punch. And the last line… *melts into puddle*.

Harry Potter and the Inconvenient Condition also by mirasfics [R; slash, 3 Parts]
Summary: Harry comes back from vacation with an inconvenient case of vampirism and must learn to cope with blood, Malfoy, and recalcitrant secretaries. And if that doesn't tell you everything about the plot you need to know, you haven't read enough badfic.
Though seriously, if *this* is badfic, I don't want to read goodfic any more. Hands down the best HP-vampire fic I laid eyes on, witty, funny, hot in the right places, with just the dollop of angst to poke fun on angsty!Harry in a way you're unlikely to forget ;).

How to Be Dead by Circe [NC-17; slash, RW/DM; one-shot]
Summary: Healer Ron attends to wizard patients while Harry fights a war that never ends. Wizards don't die like you and I; not your typical kitchen sink drama.
The divine painless_j recced me that as 'near-gen' in a batch of Ron/Draco recs, and the plot knocked my socks off. You know there's something going on right from the start, but the sheer deviousness with which the twist sneaks up on you is incredible. A brilliant mindfuck fic.

The Taste of White Leather by Mac (ausmac) [NC-17; slash, Lucius/Harry; one-shot]
Summary: Lucius discovers hidden depths to Harry Potter.
A *very* rare treat – HP/LM with a dominant Harry who's not the new Dark Lord. Hot, with incredible characterisation and very vivid writing. And I find it extremely hard to get my mind around the D/S dynamic, but this story actually convinced me.

Oh, and considering how much darkfic addicts are milling around here, why don't you go and throw your favourite pieces at colouredlights, who is compiling a Masterlist of Top Darkfics and would love your input!
