Pimping...

Yay, managed to snatch a few hours of net time before the Easter abstinence :).

Have baked chocolate chip cookies last night - will go well with chocolate easter eggs. And just plain easter eggs. With just an aside note that colouring brown eggs with blue and blue/yellow colours makes for some bloody *amazing* blue-grey and dark green/grey-green shades. Those will always live longest - the boring orange eggs are eaten first ;).

Rabid Kitten-Spam with Poll

So I have time to play on the internet, and what do I do? Messing around with cat stuff. I finally managed to upload my pictures of Hexe the Unspeakable as a kitten - if you want to have a look, they're here. As soon as hummelchen manages to extract her photos from her memory stick, there will be a few shots of the monster as it is now - we tried to get her to model for us in the kitchen a while back ;).

Played around with kitten-icons too. And since I have *no* talent at this kind of thing, and I'll have to cut back on icons again in the far-off future, here's a poll on your preferences...

ETA 1: No chickening out of the 'least favourite' option, please? I *know* she's dead cute, I just want to know which one works least as an icon :).
ETA 2: If we're talking icons, just *how* does one make an icon move? Or pictures sliding after another?

Fic Stats, and a Shameful Shipping Confession

These are the stats for my hpde_smutathon piece which I'm dead determined to drop on the betas by the end of April, as promised! Wish me luck ;).

Typed Out :

9,000 / 11,000 (81.8%)

I've also just realised that I'm quite fond of Harry/Hermione as a pairing. Not in the rabid-shipper! mode, of course, but if it's handled well (i.e. not based on sudden great passions or physical attraction), it has a nice dynamic. They balance each other out and neither over-shadows the other. Both have their issues they feel passionately about, they're well-matched power-wise (Hermione's brains, and Harry's power/instinct), they genuinely like and trust each other and work well together. For a post-war, long-term relationship, I can see H/Hr working a lot better than R/Hr (who're dead cute as squabbling teenagers in love and - unless H/Hr - have chemistry, but I can't see them living comfortably together).

Of course my ideal trio-solution would be H/R and Hr/V (or, in my own little fanon paradise, a Lucius/trio foursome), but as far as het ships go, Harry/Hermione is pretty decent. I don't feel any signs of paranoia yet that JKR is personally out to ruin my life by not including it in HBP, but from time to time it's fun to write/hint at it.
