Smutathon FIC RECS
Jun. 24th, 2006 09:25 pmOookay,
hpde_smutathon recs (as always, highly subjective and excluding the one I already recced to hell and back) - which I had happily written up last night, and ten minutes before the bus went, the computer went down, and all was lost... With a hearty *grrrrrrrrrrrh!* in retrospect, here goes:
Verlangue by
lunalelle [Snape/Harry, NC-17]
Summary: It is Severus Snape’s time.
I tend not to like master/slave stories much, but *this* one has incredibly complex character dynamics, and a lot going on under the straightforward Harry-submitting-to-Snape plot. The imagery and style are superb. And of course seeing Snape getting revenge and the upper hand for once is just pure fun :).
Somewhere a clock is ticking by
sazzlette [Regulus/Sirius, Bellatrix/Regulus, Remus/Sirius, NC-17]
Summary: Bella laughs. She is not beautiful. Not with that hard front to her laughter, or that twisted curl of her lip. She doesn’t look an awful lot like Sirius just then (but she does, and that’s the problem).
OMG, the sheer beauty of the *writing* in this! The relationship between Sirius and Regulus is all tangled up in want and disgust and anger, and just beautiful all the same. And did I mention the *writing*? Superb.
Arrangement by
annephoenix [Bellatrix/Harry, NC-17]
Summary: Harry would do anything to get Sirius back. Anything.
Ah, this story had me wriggling in my chair even during the beta-reading - it's incredibly hot, and Anne writes a delicious Bellatrix. The interaction between the two characters - and the way it's *not* a non-con fic in spite of appearances - makes it stand out. This got to me, even if it's 'het' ;).
The court fell silent by
sionnain [Regulus/Lucius, R]
Summary: Before he can rise and be embraced as one of them, he must fall.
I adore this for the pairing, and for the wonderful writing. Regulus' fascination with Lucius and the way he's seduced into taking the Dark Mark are beautiful to watch.
