Some recs, 'cause I neglected those over the last weeks:

Summary:'I've already told you: the only way to a woman's heart is along the path of torment. I know none other as sure.'
This is het at its finest, with shining characterisation of Rodolphus and Bella and absolutely gorgeous writing and imagery – the stormy prelude to a stormier marriage.

Spare the Rod by calanthe_fics (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) [Harry/Draco, NC-17, complete]
Summary:An invitation to Draco's dungeon leads Harry to discover the one thing he's been missing all his life; something he'd lost hope in ever finding.
The dynamics of consensual BDSM aren't easy for me to understand, but this story delves into what binds Harry and Draco together in depth and with incredible emotional force. Daring, sensual, cruel, and breath-takingly hot.

Sovay by amanuensis1 [Dumbledore/Severus, R, one-shot]
Summary:"I only did it for to know/ If you would be a man or no."
Nope, *don't* look at the pairing and run! This isn't about the slash at all, but about testing the bond of trust and love between Dumbledore and Snape. One cruel fic, but amazingly plausible and in character.

Changeling by lydiabennet [Fred, PG, gen, one-shot]
Summary:Fred wants a dog more than anything, and he'll do anything to get one. Anything at all.
Fred's last summer before Hogwarts. Won't say anything more, only: f you think there's nothing in HP fanfic you haven't seen at least once before, try this. I'm certain you'll find it unique. Scary perhaps, but definitely unique.

I've noticed that what I enjoy reccing most are stories that manage to sell me a topic/character/pairing I usually do *not* like to read in a way that has me glued to the screen - more even than good stories on pairings/themes I really like.

Also, dear body? No thanks for the headache! Especially not since you let me get away with three to seven hours of sleep the last two weeks (and way more towards the three than the seven), and today that I caught up with almost twelve hours nap you decide to act up. Really! *glowers*
