some more post-holiday RECs

I'm still reading my way through and around various Fests, so take a seat and have another shower of recs :).

Harry has come out of the war alive, but very much not undamaged…
I think this is one of the best Snarries I've ever seen, *ever*. A mixture of mystery and psycho-thriller with a very fragile concept of reality, and superbly ambiguous writing. Scary as bloody hell too – perhaps not your cup of tea if you like your fics clear-cut and explicitly spelled out, but if you enjoy ambiguity as much as I do, don't pass up on it!

Black and White by lazy_neutrino [James,Lily, PG]
Something is leaving dead birds and rodents on the front step of James and Lily Potter's door in Godric's Hollow…
This is such a perfect, suspenseful gem of a story that I really don't want to give away anything more, except to say… if you know how much I dislike Lily, Marauderfic and Godric's Hollow stories, and end up reccing this, you *know* it's good, right? Better than good – amazing.

Night, Sleep and the Stars by melusinahp [Harry/Draco, Draco/Bella, Harry/Bella, NC-17]
Summary:"Even with his face smeared with dirt and sweat, even with his glasses missing, even in his exhausted and helpless state, the boy on the floor made Draco want to hurt him."
Whoa! A supremely vicious, in-character Draco, vulnerable-yet-tough hero Harry, and a totally insane-but-strangely-alluring Bellatrix – mix, shake well, enjoy. And then re-read the beginning :).

The Soul Adores by maeglinyedi [Harry/Snape/Tom, NC-17]
Summary:Harry gets his hands on Slytherin's locket, but gold is not all he finds. In a desperate bid to gain crucial information, Harry attempts to play the player, with unpredictable results.
Harry is taking a very risky, innovative shortcut to the Horcruxes... I won't say anything more about the plot, because it's so superbly twisty, but it's a great adventure story with hot sex and a mind-blowing plotline :). Gosh, the ending! :)

waffling

Wah, am exhausted - should have slept more than four hours tonight...

But... I've booked my flight to and from Sectus with an extra day or so thrown in. Strangely enough, I had to pay one Euro for the flights, the rest was taxes. Still, I'm pretty pleased with it as it leaves me a bit of budget for books and stuff even if that sort of price policy is hell on the environment. On the other hand it means that there's no way to weasel out of going now, is there? *is fraidy cat*

And in May karaontai is coming to visit, about which I'm too ecstatic for words! And in late spring/summer I'll be teaching 'The Harry Potter Phenomenon', hopefully on a somewhat critical level without letting on how much I dig it and how deep I am in fandom ;).

Looks like an exciting half year :).
