A handful of fic recs, which could be a *lot* more if I wasn't waiting for the end of triatha_ron to drown you in recs for gorgeous Ron!fic.

A Winter's Tale by chaos_rose [Filch/Snape, NC-17]
Summary: Snape has a secret, Filch has rheumatism - wackiness ensues.
Oookay, this is *definitely* one of my favourite Smutmas fics, only that I hadn't known because I postponed reading because of the pairing. I'm a class-A dolt! The best characterisation of Filch and young professor Snape I've ever seen. A gorgeous character piece that perfectly uses its smut to become an even more perfect character piece. All thumbs up!

Association by corvidae9 [Pansy/Hermione, NC-17]
Summary: They say that smells trigger the strongest memories. (There's only one thing left to do when your time is up.)
This isn't just my favourite femmeslash pairing, it's also an amazing warfic with excellent characterisation and a great take on the relationships and loyalties between Slytherins. Great sex and, on top of it, a wonderful adventure/angst piece.

Remus Lupin, Early Pioneer in the History of Magical Minority Rights by magnetic_pole [PG, OC, RL/SS]
Summary: Wilhelmina Weasley writes an essay about her hero in the history of Magical Minority rights.
A totally cute post-Voldemort generation school essay for Professor Granger's class, and a glimpse at a very different wizarding world after 'Harry Potter defeated evil'. Fun, intelligent and superbly well written with an underhanded dose of 'Snupin'.

HP Widdershins by didodikali [various and Hermione/Dudley, R-ish, chaptered WIP]
Summary: An alternate universe OOC ficlet in which Harry Potter grows a brain. This is SO not gonna happen...
... but it would be cool if it would! The writing is sparkly and irreverent, and the accompanying artwork just adorable. Not to mention that any fic that makes me fall in love with Dudley deserves extra kudos – the Dudley/Hermione romance is just plain brilliant. A hilarious romp of a story.

But... mieronna??? *looks nervous*

Feedback Writing Whinge

(or: The Short versus Elaborate Feedback Dilemma)

First off, this is not a rant about what I think feedback should be like. Instead, it's hyper-personal whinging about what I wish *my* feedback writing habits would be like, finished off by a poll that's playing with extremes, but about which I'm very curious.
