February FIC RECS (Part 1)

So I'll do the February Recs Month thingy going 'round, just not daily for lack of net access, ok? But yeah, here's first batch :).

Feb 1: Flash and Circle by ibycus [Grindelwald/Albus/Tom, NC-17]
In this AU, Dumbledore and Grindelwald have remained allies and taken over the world; now, they're going to take Tom Riddle. Definitely the hottest, most well-written smut I've seen in a while, with absolutely gorgeous character interaction and a wonderful AU that there needs to be more of. I made a big fat note to myself to stalkwatch this author.

Feb 2: In Plain Sight by srichard [Lucius/Luna, NC-17, chaptered]
Summary: At the end of the second war, a mysterious treachery leaves Luna Lovegood wanted for murder. Her only refuge is in fleeing from herself, and her only hiding place is in plain sight.
This shot up my mental list of top favourite Lucius-het in a heartbeat - a lovely mix of het and slash with a fun plot and absolutely deligtful characterisation.

Feb 3: Bruised Like a Cherry (Ripe as a Peach) by fleshdress [Teddy/James jr., NC-17]
Summary: James is ready to move his relationship with Teddy on a step but Teddy's not so sure.
I *loved* this! It's tender, it's urgent, it's a potent mix of doubt and desire on Teddy's part, and straightforward want from James, always on the edge and with shiny characterisation and so very beautiful. Mmh... don't take my word for it - read for yourselves ;).

Feb 4: Drop Dead Gorgeous by mistful [Harry/Draco, Draco/Katie, others, R, chaptered, WIP]
The misadventures of Harry and Draco, postwar Auror partners... Think you've seen it before? Well, not with Harry, descendant of Veelas, I bet you haven't. It's Maya, so does it really *need* more recommendation? The title sums up the fic, with Maya's practiced mix of humour and intensity that has me alternately laughing my head off and sniffling. Exceptional!

Feb 5: Disenchanted by cluegirl [Harry/Snape, NC-17]
Summary: Sent to Privet Drive to intercede in a domestic dispute, Severus finds that Harry Potter is not quite feeling himself.
Cat!Harry fic!!! If that's not enough, Cat!Harry Snarry, and by one of the best writers around. Great fun, intense interactions, and way, *way* too delightful to pass up!

Feb 6: Monna Innominata by femmequixotic [Lucius/Narcissa, Snape/Narcissa, NC-17]
Summary: Lucius returns from Azkaban.
Narcissa, torn between love for Lucius and lust for Snape, perfectly worked into DH... Beautiful, touching and realistic, with awesome characterisation of the Malfoy couple in particular. Ah... this reminded me how much I love Narcissa ('specially when she's written this well).

Feb 7: The Warlock by Myst Shadow [Harry/Draco, PG-13, chaptered]
Summary: You find me captivating?” Harry took a step back from Draco, scanning the castle bailey and armed guards with scornful eyes. “And I find myself captive. Which is, I believe, the root of the differences between us.”
One of my oldest guilty pleasures, not before recced, I think... Fantasy AU... Heir of magical power meets humble stable boy/healer... Things go from there :). I say guilty pleasures because the author isn't a native English speaker and at times it shows, but heck, the thing is intense and always keeps me glued to the screen.

Feb 8: Salve by rose_whispers [Ron/Snape, NC-17]
Summary: Snape wasn't expecting the person with the singed off hair to be the youngest Weasley male
One of my favourite rarepairs recently, with great characterisation (lovely Ron, absolutely shiny Snape) that has its dash of humour, excels in bickering, and is an all-round feelgood read.
