Waffling on Returning to Civilisation

Have dropped of parental unit at the airport, made sure she was on board during takeoff, and am now awaiting late-night confirmation call that she arrived home safely to be greeted by an ecstatic cat. No, I don't get remotely as much love upon arrival from Teh Hexe :).
Am feeling a wee bit mee. I usually don't do lonely, and actually revel in living on my own, but give me company for a while, and then take it away, and you have whiny and teary Hijja for a day or so.
Holidays were great fun - not too much rain, some truly gorgeous places. I like mountains and love the sea (ok, make that sea =/= tourist-grilling beaches), and having both at once is yay! Saw lots of castles, islands and otters. Was also bitten by a rather pretteh cat :).
Anyway, this means returning to my regular irregular schedule of LJ-reading as opposed to throwing a few random side glances at the f-list for weeks. Not helped by LJ being bad to me for a while. And *really* stepping up the
ownficfest writing! However, in praise of Hedwig Teh Netbook, she held up beautifully, I got totally used to her, and have re-evaluated her purchase as one of the brightest things ever rather than throwing money I barely have on some random gadget ;). *pets Hedwig while typing*
May have caught a bit of a chill, though - lotsandlots of wind, and all of it too enjoyable to evade or muffle up against. Tends to avenge itself ;). I'll have to survive the two days before the weekend at work, though, no way around it.
Currently munching on a bowl of parsley for cheering-up purposes and trying to catch up with LJ as long as it's behaving itself :).
