I got into superhero comics at the age when most people get out - sixteen years old. That means that I never had that suspicion about my own maturity or about the legitimacy of being a superhero fan, that a lot of fans tend to get. There is a terrible inferiority complex about something called "the real world" crawling around superhero fandom, to which I usually answer "I do not see the importance of the judgement of a 'real world' that reads The Sun". (In Germany, it would be Bild Zeitung.) Comics are an artform as good as any other, and there is nothing wrong about the superhero genre either.

End of this particular rant.
