A Small Shower of Recs

Two Evils by [livejournal.com profile] the_con_cept [Harry/Lucius/Snape, NC-17]
Summary: Harry is caught between two evils'and takes them both.
It's always wonderful to stumble across an unexpected treat involving one's OTP, followed by a mental wail of why didn't I know about this *sooner*! Because this three-part fic has it all: Harry/Lucius, a touch of ambiguous consent, sizzling sex, PLOT, and, most precious of all, convincing, canonical characterisation. Four thumbs up and a giddy Wheeee!

Where All Trains Go by [livejournal.com profile] painless_j [slash, mystery pairing, NC-17]
Summary: "Only double solitudes, coupled on a narrow bunk, will remain imprinted on the non-existent map of train-shags, and will be locked in the deepest layers of memory. Sense memory."
The way I prefer my pr0n is when the sex is both powerful, graphic and vivid, and used as a tool for characterisation. [livejournal.com profile] painless_j's gorgeous fic is a perfect example. Puzzling out who the protagonists are is only one of the pleasures of the fic – what makes it stand out is the incredible quality of language and imagery. A stunning story - highly recommended!

Open Doors by zionstarfish [Harry/Draco, PG-13]
Summary: Harry Potter is dead. Or is he?
The only future-tense fic I've (so far) seen in the fandom, and a beautiful study of Draco dealing with (or denying...) Harry's death. Includes a cat. No, that's *not* why I'm reccing it ;). It's innovative, with beautiful (and very amusing) descriptions and a strong and honest emotional impact. And did I mention that there is a cat?

I'm so glad you read and recced "where all trains go"

It's one of my favourite pieces in fandom, and when I say that, there are very very few that I remember and want to re-read over and over. I can still remember the first couple of lines. I adore it.

And that never ceases to amaze me :)

Thanks for reccing it to me in the first place! I probably would never have found it otherwise, because I recall [livejournal.com profile] painless_j saying at one point she didn't write much, and I was dumb enough to take that at face value :(.
