That said, I didn't get the impressions the bank people were very familiar with the process... Basically, if any of you did it, how? There's also an email in my profile if you don't want to discuss it in public.
ETA: Settled! *hugs You-Know-Who*

I tried to pay from Australia by bank transfer, and they even put additional info on the Sectus site to help me, but it still looked terribly dodgy - besides the outathisworld bank charges, the bank offered no guarantee the money would go where I wanted it to go - so in the end I settled for doing it by credit card through PayPal. Even though I was most reluctant to get involved in PayPal. I am still looking suspiciously at my card statements. At least the money got through.

Securty is the reason we chose Paypal - no company is perfect but they do have a good reputation :) ... At the rate I've been advertising Paypal for the means of Sectus payments you'd think they should pay me some commission!

That will be so great! I didn't dream you'd manage to go as you're having such a huge trip to undertake.
And I'm as wary as you of anything involving paypal or credit cards as a whole...
I'm so looking forward to meeting you - for real, that is :).

I haven't fixed on a place to stay yet (looking for cheap, clean, close; q), but have been thinkinhg about Marylebone Hall (http://www.wmin.ac.uk/page-5378) - student acommodation a few minutes walk up the road (making late night returns much easier than staying anywhere you need to get the tube or a bus).

But if Sectus offers you the option of PayPal? Hell, I'd do that - you can utilize it via your bank account, too, without a credit card, and it's virtually free. :)

I got a paycheque from a UK university a while back, and it almost killed me how much of that went to feed the bank :(.
Paypal I'm even more ignorant about, but I think things are settled now :).

You wait till The Peacock's Eye thunders metaphorically through your inbox. I've had it up to here with the damned thing, I really have. Five weeks of no writing (struggling with cold number FOUR now) and since it's half-term I'm trying to make up for lost time. Hmph!
At the moment I'm wallowing in a scene I don't like, but with information I do need to communicate somehow. It wasn't in the first draft because I didn't realise till after this point that I needed it. Blurgh.

It'll be lovingly scooped out of there and, um, deposited in a bowl of water to keep it fresh until it can be restored to the poor peacock, promise!
Though I feel your pain - secret project? 6000+ words and they're not even having sex yet!

For you that's nothing short of a disaster.
I'm leaning towards,
'So what did McGonagall say?' asked Ron.
Harry shrugged. 'Just what you'd expect. Let's get on with the plot.'

My piece of advice...
But that's just my two cents :-).
