PotC 3, with Spoilers

All right, I went to see Pirates of the Carribean 3 last night with [livejournal.com profile] hummelchen, and it was great fun and nearly made me forget I had a headache most of the time. Enjoyable, exciting, if the weakest of the three, and hopefully the last!

We fought over coffee on the relative merits of the first part ([livejournal.com profile] hummelchen's favourite, and the second (mine), and discussed a lot of RL things so that I walked out in a way better mood (and a little less scared) than before.

That said, I do have a serious question about the ending!ending of this...

Well, the *final* ending after the credits... did I interpret this right, that the boy who was hanged (and singing beforehand) at the beginning was indeed Will's and Elizabeth's son from the end? Because that'd be very cool in a highly tragical way - and a way better ending than the 'leaving open the possibility of a sequel' that was the 'real' end? Or am I applying my trademarked 'jumping to conclusions and then clinging to them' interpretation style?

The ending thing aside, I thought that the entire film would have benefitted from being shorter (the Calypso-plotline in particular seemed *very* superfluous, and contained the only moment in a film of otherwise stunning visuals where CGI really *really* sucked too much for words).

But that aside, it was definitely fun, if not the best thing since sliced bread :).

Nope, that was a different boy. Lord Beckett was there in the execution, which was set around the time when Will and co. were in Singapore.

It was definitely a fun movie but I really hope that, somewhere in the Ficton universe, Elizabeth is doing something more with herself than just being a mommy. And, is it my imagination, or did she look really YOUNG for having lived through 10 mortal years? Maybe Jack found that fountain and is slipping her some eternal youth? (Or something. *whistles innocently*)

LOL -- it is a Disney movie -- there is no such thing as a final ending -- meaning: final means no more possibilities for Disney to make money!!!! :-)
And trust me -- if there is one thing they are doog at -- it is making money -- or as even the Disney employees say:"All ways in the Magic Kingdom lead to a gift shop." LOL.

But it was a good movie -- better than Spiderman 3, that one made me look at the watch. Pirates didn't! And I really, really dig Jack ;-)....
But apparently Elizabeth goes for the "pretty" boy LOL!!!!

Johnny Depp is on record as saying that he really loves playing Jack Sparrow and that he hopes there will other occasions. Sorry an' all...
