PotC 3, with Spoilers
All right, I went to see Pirates of the Carribean 3 last night with
hummelchen, and it was great fun and nearly made me forget I had a headache most of the time. Enjoyable, exciting, if the weakest of the three, and hopefully the last!
We fought over coffee on the relative merits of the first part (
hummelchen's favourite, and the second (mine), and discussed a lot of RL things so that I walked out in a way better mood (and a little less scared) than before.
That said, I do have a serious question about the ending!ending of this...
Well, the *final* ending after the credits... did I interpret this right, that the boy who was hanged (and singing beforehand) at the beginning was indeed Will's and Elizabeth's son from the end? Because that'd be very cool in a highly tragical way - and a way better ending than the 'leaving open the possibility of a sequel' that was the 'real' end? Or am I applying my trademarked 'jumping to conclusions and then clinging to them' interpretation style?
The ending thing aside, I thought that the entire film would have benefitted from being shorter (the Calypso-plotline in particular seemed *very* superfluous, and contained the only moment in a film of otherwise stunning visuals where CGI really *really* sucked too much for words).
But that aside, it was definitely fun, if not the best thing since sliced bread :).

And trust me -- if there is one thing they are doog at -- it is making money -- or as even the Disney employees say:"All ways in the Magic Kingdom lead to a gift shop." LOL.
But it was a good movie -- better than Spiderman 3, that one made me look at the watch. Pirates didn't! And I really, really dig Jack ;-)....
But apparently Elizabeth goes for the "pretty" boy LOL!!!!
