2007 Fics in Review Meme

General output: five or so ficlets and eleven fics, only two of those really long. Still more than I'd thought I'd written. Plus, of course, my Smutmas piece, but that doesn't count yet :).

Favorite story this year: Spinning Off Course - I'm equally in love with the AU plot, the pairings and the sex :). And it let me write Harry/Sirius which I'd always wanted.
Best story this year: Truck-Driving with the Dead - ok, I'm bad at evaluating this, but it seemed popular and I got a huge, unexpected compliment from somebody whose opinion really matters, so...
Most underappreciated by the universe: Tis Pity He's a Whore, although that's natural with Cantarella being a tiny fandom, and I was perfectly happy that the recipient liked it.
Most fun story: Gods of Hellfire - the crack premise amused me greatly, and well, it allowed me to imply so many all-wrong pairings :). My imagination sure had fun with it.
Sexiest story: Trust - pretty close to being my favourite, too. Strangely, fics that let me explore and exorcise a former squick tend to make me very happy :).
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": The Outer Edge of Hell - cringed like mad while writing this. Probably among my best non-con plots...
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Eighteen in Wartime - it showed me non-AU!Sirius' attraction and Ron's sexual adventurousness (which the then got to display in Trust) all at once.
Hardest story to write: Sekrit Fic aside (which truly was hell), Thestrals at Dawn - it somehow took three years to come to life.
Biggest disappointment: Fishing Expedition - it never had the, well, *spark* I wanted it to have, damn!
Biggest surprise: Spider Dreams... I wrote het sex!!! It doesn't get more surprising than that.
Story I want remembered: All of them ;). No, kidding aside, I don't think any is remotely among my best, but I'm torn between Truck-Driving and Spinning...

Damn right I liked the Cantarella! Yeah, writing in fandoms like that... most of the time feels like writing for the bin from the get-go. I don't care what the universe appreciated or not -- I loved it. <3

You know I loved "Trust", having my OTP(R/D) there and then Lucius mixed in, that's a dream come true. So saying it's your sexiest story...love it, because damn was it ever.

"God's of Hellfire", that's true pr0n, I always say R/D is my OTP but thrihyrne says that RW/SS is my true OTP, because I have such an affinity for the pairing, there's just something about Ron/Snape, theres such great fiction that could be written about this pair, both of them in the shadows in their respective era's, does that make sense.

I have to say you're pretty spot on with your choices. Brilliant work, Hijja, here's looking for another year of your amazing fic.

Oh, thank you! I know I've missed a good few of your fics while I've been offline this year. Truck-Driving I think I've missed, I'll save that for later indulgence. I just immersed myself in Trust, which is hot as hell and even just a tiny bit tender. This post is a great New Year gift!

I read little and wrote less this year, but now I want to do this meme because I do have a "Holy crap, that's wrong even for you" fic -- I committed RPS. *hangs head in shame* It's wrong and bad and I kind of love it, because it had been in my head for awhile, and like you said, I guess I exorcised it.

These lists are a good place to start on next-year's reading. :-)

I loved 'Fishing Expedition', it sparked for me.
I do hope you plan to write more in the series. ( The only other one is Slytherin Lovers, isn't it?)

I must confess some other stories of you that I tried where to heavy for me, so I might not be the kind of reader you are writing for.
