Yes, you've most likely all seen it, but now it's not only objectionable content (or whatever LJ defines as such) that can get you tossed, but also
linking alone is already enough to get you tossed.
hogwarts_today is going on hiatus because of this :(.
Personal policy... well, beyond a hearty "Well, fuck them!", I've backed up my LJ, then weighed options about major future base of operations.
shaggirl posted a nifty comparison of LJ-type sites
here (although IJ has since updated friends-numbers for free accounts from 100 to 250 and
is thinking about a further increase.
I'm hinting at that so unsubtly because as things stand, IJ would be my definite preference - especially since GJ seems to have similar attitudes to fanart as LJ, and IJ has explicitly
stated it doesn't. So *my* short-term pick of choice would be IJ (and my longterm,
Scribblit/
scribblit, or the project(s)
ponderosa121 has
suggested here and
atrata is pursuing with
fandom_flies (though I'd rather have *one* fandom project rather than the great Trotskyist fragmentation phenomenon...).
Well, in short, I'm
kennahijja on IJ as well, and have already managed to transfer my layout, userpics and a year's worth of posts (*madly snuggles
mieronna for her how-to-for-the-clueless*). Still, wherever 'fandom' (i.e. the people I care about muchly) decides to go in the end, I'll join.
That's not saying I'll leave LJ - I'll crosspost everything from waffling to underage pr0n (praying that there'll be *one* site most people migrate to collectively in the end), and if they toss me, they toss me. It's not a place I much care about being anyhow. And - posts in communities aside - I won't lock. It won't make that much of a difference, and I won't be intimidated!
ETA:
maeglinyedi has posted some pretty alarming details Re: the Scribblit project and it being located in Canada. Damn!Still,
Rita Skeeterinquiring minds would like to know:
