Eight Days of Happiness - Day One
Apr. 8th, 2009 12:39 am(filched, among others, from
siriaeve and
trobadora)
1. Post about something that made you happy today, even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for eight days.
3.Tag eight of your friends to do the same. I don't tag, but it sounds like a cheerful thing to do ;).
Today's Happy... unsurprisingly, Vermont's legalisation of gay marriage, coming on the heels of Iowa, and with encouraging rumblings from Washington DC.
Even though I think that 'marriage' should effectively mean civil union for *everybody*, supervised by the state without any religious element (anyone who wants a religious ceremony can approach their religion of choice independently), and even though it's only a tiny step on a worldwide scale, it's also a triumph of love over fear, hatred and prejudice. And how often do we get to see something like *that* nowadays?
Plus, cute dragonlet out of sheer frustration - examine at will! ;)
