Hm, I wonder if there is a supermarket policy that says "You shall make your tellers compliment female customers on their earrings; this will make them happy, and then they'll come back and shop more".

Because today was the second time that happened to me - same supermarket, but different teller and definitely different earrings...

Now I know I have a penchant for not-everyday earrings which are quite pretty if I may say so (I would, having bought them, right? ), but this feels like too intriguing a coincidence ;).

You could hang around to spy, and see if they admire other people's earrings,too, but life is too short - enjoy the compliments!
