Fictional Characters Meme

* Comment on this post.

* Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.

[livejournal.com profile] _hannelore gave me an L, and I took 'fictional' in the wider sense...

Lucius Malfoy - fave villain *ever*. Aristocratic bad guy with sneer and brain and temper and bastardly little son who's just as much trouble :). And he even develops depth of character at the end rather than remaining a pimp!cane tooting sex god. Plus, he inspires me to write like whoa, so...

Leia Organa - for a 'rescue the princess' plotline that could've gone spectacularly bad, she's a wonderful, un-cliched character - brave, bright, loyal, sarcastic to no end, and definitely not one to stand around and scream while the boys do the job. Loved her ever since her first scene - ghosting around all earphone hairbuns and sacrificial victim outfit, only to pull out a pistol and starting to shoot stormtroopers. Yay!

Lew Alton - another of my favourite tormented, cursed and damaged heroes - anything but perfect, but desperately trying to do the right thing and stay true to himself and keep his family alive - and failing so badly.

Leetah - at times almost a bit too goody-two-shoes for my taste, but still quite a role model. Unlike her lifemate's, hers is not so much a coming of age story, but a growing in strength, with all the dangerous pitfalls that entails. But her compassion and committment to life are so very admirable.

Loxagon - I'm almost ashamed to include him because in retrospect the teenage obsession of mine in which he featured is *so* bad, but back then (and still somewhere at the back of my head), I thought him the coolest thing since sliced bread. Son of the devil, evil demon, utter incompetentsomewhat achievement-challenged, but undoubtably hot ;). [livejournal.com profile] karaontai will agree, even if nobody else does! Poor Loxi - it was nice as long as it lasted!

Huh! I only know two out of five. *feels ignorant*

I also feel in the mood for memes. I'll take a letter. :)

Ah - it's HP, Star Wars, Darkover, Elfquest... and Tony Ballard, of which you couldn't possibly have heard without being German, and even then, most likely not ;).

Would an A make you happy?

Uh-oh... ich glaube, solltest du drueberstolpern, dann ist mein guter Ruf den Bach runter ;).

Letter and Loxi....

[identity profile] karaontai.livejournal.com 2008-09-14 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
... may I have a letter as well? Thanks a bunch .

Yes, Loxi -- ahh memories of times gone by lol ;-). And very good memories too. Remember Brutus and the flying puppies ;-). Yup, that memory made me laugh.

I know all but one of your characters: Lew Alton does not ring a bell. But I guess 4 out of 5 isn't bad.

Just one thing define: fictional character. As in characters thought of by someone other than myself right? ;-)

Just for you, I'll hand out a K :).

Who could forget Brutus and the puppies :). Lew Alton is one of the main characters of MZB's Darkover - I know I filtered a *lot* of her stuff into our games, but don't know if I ever forced you to read it?

Yes, thought of by someone other than yourself :). Otherwise I'd have thrown in Lithe Eschrit for sure ;). Not sure if fictional means only novels, but I threw in film and comics too.

Lucius is brilliant. Partly for some of the reasons I love Draco - snarky sneerer who screws up massively and has awesome ideas. But also, so sexy and comically nouveau riche. Plus, he gets to have sex with Narcissa.

Leia - "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?" *swoons*

Letter plz!

*Way* too many posts on those threads to keep count. It's fascinating to read.

Letter, please?

Good Lord, wanna make things easy for me? I was expecting Y or X or Q or something!

Il Corsaro Nero by Emilio Salgari, the archetype of the pirate for all young Italias for generations. I just happened to be reminded of this character today. See here: http://www.rohpress.com/gallery5.htm

Captain America. One of the first superheroes, co-created and repeatedly re-created by King Jack Kirby, and one of the first superheroes I remember reading. Still a favourite, until recently he bore a resolutely liberal view of America; he never uses a gun or kills people for any reason.

Captain Kathryn Janeaway. My favourite of all the Star Trek captains, her alternately aristocratic and maternal presence was the making of the series, which would never have coalesced without her.

Captain Britain. By Alan Moore and Alan Davis. Anyone who needs to know more knows nothing about comics.

Charlie Brown. As in: we are all.....

*K*athryn Janeaway?

Though this gives me fond memories of 'Captain Future' in my teens :).
