rec me something (*puppy eyes*)

Yep, please do! The most brilliant thing that's come your way recently, provided it isn't NC-17 and there is no Snape. Or at least no focus on Snape. I could happily fill my last batch of Niffles with Snapefic, but I want to resist!

Recently?

I'm not sure if this has been Niffled yet, but Draco By Trial by Thrintje is the latest slash story I read that was really good.

That's all I remember (except for one that's MINE to Niffle! :D) except for a bunch of het fics...

Yup, has been done, but thanks muchly for the rec! And I don't mind the bunch of het fics, if they're good ;).

The Price of Love is the first one I think of, seeing as I read that one last. :D

Er... by any chance, do you know if The Lightning Letters was Niffled? Because it doesn't seem to be, but it's one of those fics that really should be. Anyway, if it hasn't been, that's my next Niffle.

I hope you don't mind me replying to this - I'm pretty sure that this fic isn't Niffled. 'Seamus Is Seamus and You Are Yourself' by the same author was, but not this one.

[identity profile] aphoenix2007.livejournal.com 2004-11-12 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks very much. :D

::going to Niffle now::

Ooh, I love that fic. Especially the way Draco is really self-aware about being out of character, but just resigning himself to it.

May I suggest The Shadow of His Wings by Mirabella? I posted about it in my LJ (including a link to the story) here.

Thank you!
Words fail me about how much I fell in love with that! The Lucius-Percy interactions especially...

Ah! Well, here's a few:
Watching him watching her - this one in brilliant, IMO. Tonks and a mystry person fight over Harry's attention.

And one of my personal favourites, Fat Kid, by [livejournal.com profile] minerva_fan.

Voldemort won the war - almost like a wizarding 1984...with Dudley as the main character.

Hope you like them. :)

I have a few!
Black Widow by Switchknife, rated R, but a fantastic take on Bellatrix. http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=4109

A Nice Cup of Tea and A Lie Down by Bernice. PG. Drama/Humour!
http://members.ozemail.com.au/%7Ebrussell/tea.htm

Though This Be Madness by DovieLR, R. Okay, this is Snape, but I thought you might like it anyway! One of my favourites.

New fics this week

[identity profile] rfachir.livejournal.com 2004-11-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Twisted threesome fic. Short, powerful oneshots.

http://www.astronomytower.org/authors/augustus/broken.html
James/Peter - beautiful, layered, precise and twisted, with a logical horrible ending.

http://www.astronomytower.org/authors/augustus/consecration.html
Dark!Ron/Hermione/Harry - another twisted IC view of canon characters

I was going to rec you [livejournal.com profile] hackthis's recent series of Theodore/Neville stories (she posts on Veela as Zahra) but then I remembered that the latest updates go into NC-17.

Then I thought I should rec it anyway in case you've not seen it. Her Neville is always brilliant - strong and loyal, without ever losing his canonesque clumsiness - and her take on Theodore is so damn Slytherin! It reminds me very much of Two Worlds and In Between with its focus on wizarding politics and shifting allegiances.

Read Shadowycat's excellent Truth beyond memory. Read it in her LJ, where you can see her illustrations as well as the story.
