Archive Your Fic - Week!

As the most brilliant painless_j has declared, it's

THE WEEK OF FIC BACKUP!

So let me just echo her in a heartfelt plea of
'if you write/wrote fic, back it up on-line! Archive it in more than one place!'

In several places if possible, because archives can (and do) go down. Just think of it as a bit of community service - you make people happy by making your fic accessible, and happy readers can read your stories in various places without digging around the net for ages :).

And her post includes a dead useful guide to the big archives of the HP fandom with all their pros and cons.

So - check it out, and - PLEASE! - archive!

Thanks for pointing me that way :-) I had actually been thinking about finding myself another archive to put things, mostly to reach more people outside LJ. This is a good start.

... although after dragging all of my halfway worthwhile fics up to The Archive, went like 'gods, not again any time soon!' :). It's worthwhile, but so bloody much *work*.

LOL It *is* a lot of work. And the Archive is a very nice place, just not so well-known yet. I'll get to it when I have time after xmas. :-)
