(filched from [livejournal.com profile] furiosity)

Fics and Ficlets I wrote in 2005: 13 (well, 14 - one is done but not posted yet). Of those, 9 1/2 are slash, 2,5 gen and one het. 7 are NC-17, two definite crack, and two chaptered. Four gift fics, and only one a Fest entry (I suck!).

Favourites of the batch Turnabout (Harry/Ron/Draco; NC-17) because I'm still fond of how the characters turned out, and Beyond This Point Lie Monsters (Lucius/Harry/Tom; R) because it took so long to finish, and the troublesome last chapter came 'round as it should.

Best of the batch: Turnabout, I think. For Refuge (Harry/Lucius/Ron, NC-17) seemed to be more popular, though.

Most underappreciated by the universe: The Dark Side of Reason (Lucius/Harry, Lucius/Remus, NC-17)... not counting those who are underappreciated for a good reason!

Most fun to write: Adoration, or: Should've Been Slytherin (Hermione/Snape; PG) - poking fun at the Hermione/Snape shippers entertained me greatly.

Sexiest fic: Turnabout again - I'm rarely happy with how sex turns out, but I liked this. Well - you tell me :).

"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": Sleepwalking with the Damned (Harry/Lucius, Harry/Draco, NC-17) - "look, I can write unredeemed noncon too!". I broke through most of my personal barriers with it. And I seriously sold out on every bit of my integrity with Vengeance and Pacifiers (Harry/Lucius smoop, PG-13).

Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Delicate Old Injuries (James/Lucius, James/Voldemort; NC-17) reconciled me with James Potter.

Hardest fic to do: Lots - I had nasty writer's block for months - but most of all Sleepwalking with the Damned - I hated writing that.

Biggest disappointment: Remedial Healing (Hermione/Poppy, NC-17): it just didn't... click with me emotionally at all...

Biggest surprise: Delicate Old Injuries (for sheer wtf-where-does-*that*-come-from???) and Pathway to Perdition (Percy/Lucius, PG-13) for split-second inspiration (I never had a bunny plotted through right down to chapter content in one minute...)

Most telling fic: The Right to Choose (gen, OC, PG-13)... there's a lot of me in that character...

You give so many links to fics of yours I haven't read yet and what do I go to read? Sleepwalking with the Damned. What can I say, I have a thing for non-con, and this story was really an amazing piece of this genre. Dark and brutal and so very powerful. I hope you don't mind me saying that I actually found it hot as well, even though I suppose that was not your intention. But what Lucius did to Harry in the end was really cruel, even crueller than the actual non-con part of the story, since it deprived Harry of any chance to ever deal with and thus get over that traumatic experience. I loved that because what in other fics is sometimes just a convenient plot contrivance for the victim to get on with their lives as if nothing happened, here it serves to make the victim's trauma even worse. And I also loved it because it was so nasty that by the end of the story the non-con didn't feel much hot anymore to me. It was really a very dark and heartbreaking ending. Oh, and your Lucius of course was wonderfully written. And just in case it hasn't been obvious, I absolutely loved the fic. :)

(I hope you don't mind that I commented here instead of over there at the site.)

And... Happy New Year! :)

Happy New Year to you too!

Thanks so very much for the lovely feedback! And I don't mind at all that that you found it hot in parts - I'm happy you did. That's what it was written for ;). It's only that I rarely find my own sex scenes hot at all (at least after they're written), and here I was in a total 'I'll go through with that and if it kills me' mindset that alienated me even more. I even *liked* how Lucius turned out in this, although generally I see him as a bastard, but not as a quite so... physical one?

How the heck have I missed so many of your stories?! Well, looks like I have some reading to catch up on :P

And oh yeah, Beyond This Point Lie Monsters is one of my favorite fics. I never expected to like something that had a Tom Riddle relationship in it, but this was incredible.

*grin*
I was so close of renaming it the 'navelgazing meme' ;). I blame 'Monsters' on Tom entirely - I just sat back and chronicled what he decided to do :).
