Also, I'm *so* learning to filter! Always felt it was a mildly dodgy tool to shut up people without them knowing, but heck - I *need* to have a way to read newsletters and communities and stuff individually. Having all of those on my f-list makes me overlook so bloody much. This feature actually *is* useful...

Date: 2006-08-04 10:54 pm (UTC)Also, it's deceptive -- it looks so neat and tidy and organized that you say "I can afford to join sixteen more communities and friend these other 23 people" and then the filters won't help. You'll still be overwhelmed.
But for the purpose you mentioned, it should work really well. (I have a group just for people who post a LOT, like seven times each day and can use up the whole f-list page.)

Date: 2006-08-05 06:49 pm (UTC)I'll keep that in mind in red, shiny letters! Because friending is so simple, and defriending when the reading load becomes overwhelming almost hurts me physically. Though I dunno if it isn't preferable to never commenting and hardly having the time to read...
