Cut to spare you.
1. I have the most miserable cold in years :(. Stuffed nose, cough that sounds like an iron hammer, feeling as if someone had done me over with one, and being slightly spaced out without even having my favourite flu medicine that does that to me. Miserable enough to stay home from work yesterday, and today as well. Fortunately, my boss tends more towards recommending eccentric cold remedies than to complaining that I'm not there. But, adding insult to injury, it's been the most gorgeously sunny day in *ages* yesterday. Damn! I hate being sick!
2. Oh joy, today proved I'm not pregnant after all (not *bloody* likely, seriously!), after my period skipped last month. And here I hoped it'd be very early menopause...
3. My fic productivity is *abysmal*. It's not even that I don't *want* to write or have bunnies. Just when I come home I have absolutely no energy left to get creative, and on the weekends I mostly sleep.
4. And the Dragoncave site is down... *whimpers*.

Date: 2008-10-18 07:26 am (UTC)Yes. I'm with you on that!
Hugs for the rest of it, which is just so crap and what an enormous waste of time it is being ill. I have a slight cold (nothing like yours) which I'm thumping with enormous doses of paracetamol whenever it rears its ugly head. So far I've suppressed it enough to keep going and possibly it'll go completely once I've had a good rest this weekend. I hope your horrible cold takes a fancy to mine and they run off into the sunset together!

Date: 2008-10-18 08:49 am (UTC)Man, the period, srsly, it's a freakshow. Maybe you were really stressed last month, that sometimes makes it go poof!; has to do with Prolaktin levels, they're way high when one's under a lot of pressure. By the way, today, is also "Weltweiter Tag der Menopause", Deutscher Zweithaartag" and "Europäischer Tag der Depression" - three good reasons to go back to bed.
*hugs*

Date: 2008-10-18 04:11 pm (UTC)But some days, I swear. (Let's concentrate on Tag des Zweithaars, shall we? At least that doesn't concern us yet.)
I wish I were back in Orvieto on my ill-marked trail.
That cathedral? Seriously scary!

Oh, and skipping a period or two. Been there. It sucks, yes.

Date: 2008-10-18 03:22 pm (UTC)2. Funnily enough I kept skipping periods when I lived in Edinburgh. I think the low level of light actually ruined my reproductive cycle.
3. Same here ... And I feel particularly pathetic about the lack of fic when I'm sitting on two wonderful betas ((((HUGS)))) and a broken knee so I'm not going anywhere ... and I STILL can't write! Of course, my Alex Rider "shitfic that gets loads of reviews" is as fun to write as ever. If only the rest of like could be this easy.
4. I have lost the will to live ...
Can't wait for my Tintagel holiday! You will feel better soon. I promise!!
Re: ((hugs))
Date: 2008-10-18 04:24 pm (UTC)I would blame it on the lack of light, but September isn't all that bad yet?
And well, you'll have to write AR, then. It's actually damn good, you know! And great fun!
You will feel better soon. I promise!! You too! Promise! :)
Poor thing...

Date: 2008-10-19 05:01 am (UTC)There must be something going around. If you ever lurk on my blog, you may have noticed that I have just survived a really scary crisis. Who knows, maybe you caught your cold from the London Stock Exchange? Or New York? They do say that when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches cold, but I did not imagine it to be quite so literal.
Do look after yourself. And get lots of sleep. We're kinda short of geniuses these days.

Date: 2008-10-19 03:50 pm (UTC)Thanks for the good thoughts, though!
I only caught an allusion to something serious from your blog, so I'm just glad to hear that you say you *survived* it. That's good, isn't it?
